Hey everyone, Hope everyone had a great summer. Here are a couple of my entries from the Great Lakes Championship this past weekend in Monroe Michigan. Sure was nice seeing the gang again. Can’t wait till next year!
It was a fun competition this year with many new faces. Congrats to everyone that placed and was nice seeing familar faces. These were my entries for this year.
This was my entry for the rainbow trout division from last weeks world championships. It won its division and was my horse for the overall champion but fell a little short of making the final swim off. It is carved from tupelo wood and is 10″ in length. I love doing trout!
I want to thanks Andrew Gardner for starting the first anual saltwater fish decoy competition. It was held at the Monroe worlds fish decoy championships last weekend and sure was alot of fun! Andrew picked a yellowtail bass for this years fish decoy. The best part was looking for reference photo’s of this fish. The fish were judged on likeness to species , craftmanship , and swimming ability. I was lucky enough to win the trophy for this year against some incredible carvers. There were some amazing entries. Thanks again Andrew and can’t wait for what species you will pick next year. LOL
One last entry I had in the warm water division in decorative. It is spawning male creek chub. It is 11″ long carved from tupelo Wood.
